One of the country’s leading organisations for the promotion of women in business is seeking nominations for its annual prestigious FL National Awards & Summit, which recognises outstanding female business leaders across the UK.
Forward Ladies has run its respected awards programme for ten years, and last year attracted an astonishing number of nominations, with over 1,800 successful business women striving for a coveted award. The deadline for nominations is Friday 11th June.
Women can either self-nominate or be nominated by a colleague or business associate on the Forward Ladies website, within a broad range of categories. These include Corporate Leader, STEM Leader, Mentor of the Year, Exporting/International Business, Start Up and Male Agent of Change.
This year, for the first time, companies that are successful in recruiting, retaining and advancing women are also to be recognised. All applicant companies, including those that do not make the final list, will receive an exclusive best practice report. The deadline for application within this category is at the later date of 7th October.
Winners from each regional heat will be put forward to an exclusive Grand Final ceremony on Friday 29th November at the Royal Armouries, Leeds. Regional events will be held:
North West, Wales and Ireland Regional Final, Friday 13th September, The Lowry Hotel, Manchester
Yorkshire, North East and Scotland Regional Final, Friday 20th September, Crowne Plaza Hotel, Stephenson Quarter, Newcastle
London and the South Regional Final, Friday 27th September, Hilton Tower Bridge, London
Midlands Regional Final, Friday 4th October, The Hyatt Regency, Birmingham
Last year’s FL Outstanding Business Woman of the Year title was presented to Lara Oyesanya, UK Counsel and Director, Legal at Klarna Bank AB:
“I was delighted and honoured to win the FL Outstanding Business Woman of the Year award and the impact has been huge. The awards have shone a spotlight on my career and has inspired so many others.
“Importantly, the awards have enabled me to promote women’s cause and for them to consider possibilities. For me, I’ve taken away the importance of getting involved to share my stories to provide the visuals that are so necessary because people relate better to what they can see. Thank you Forward Ladies.”
Griselda Togobo, managing director of Forward Ladies, added:
“It was always my intention through this event to create a global platform for exceptionally talented women in business; to showcase their achievements, their true potential and the positive impact they continue to make on our economy. The awards proudly celebrates this and gives each and every one of them the genuine recognition they so truly deserve.
“This annual experience offers Forward Ladies the enormous opportunity to encourage, support and develop these aspiring business leaders in their careers, and we are very keen to continue our commitment as they realise their business ambitions and individual aspirations.”
Nominations & Applications for the awards can be made HERE before Friday 11th June, with regional finalists announced at the end of June.
